CRITERIA & SELECTION:DOWSER OF THE YEAR and REGISTER OF RECOGNITION AWARDS are chosen for their outstanding contributions to Dowsing and to the ASD.The Process: How Award Candidates are Nominated and Chosen:Those chosen have exhibited a high amount of devotion to dowsing and the ASD over many years. They have also proven a willingness to be helpful whenever and wherever possible.
* Candidates are to be selected by solicitation of the Regional Vice Presidents, Chapter Presidents and ASD members at large. Dowser of the Year Award
* Selection will be made by the Awards Committee based on overall qualifications of service and outstanding performances in the area of dowsing.
* The award shall be a framed Dowsers Prayer and shall be presented at the annual ASD Convention.* The Register of Recognition award selection shall be made by the Awards Committee for outstanding service to ASD in broad areas of activities. Register of Recognition Awards
* It shall be presented at the annual ASD convention.
* It shall be an engraved plaque showing the name and date of the award and shall be mounted on the board at ASD headquarters.
* An Award certificate shall be provided to the members who have received the award.The SUMMER issues of the Dowsers Digest is supposed to contain announcement articles asking members to forward the names of dowsers that they feel are deserving of an award and why. (Apparently this has been missing in recent summer issues.)REGISTER OF RECOGNITION: Names submitted for this award should be those of individuals who have made a substantial contribution of themselves to the advancement of dowsing. The Awards Committee has chosen three persons for this award, as has been the custom for the last several years:
- The first person chosen has been a member of ASD for more than twenty-five years.
- She has been a teacher and convention speaker for nearly all of those years.
- She was co-director of the annual conventions basic dowsing school for many years.
- She went through a few years when her dowsing abilities were seriously tested but by the strength of her character she came back to dowsing stronger than ever.
- She was an ASD Trustee for many years.
- She has, at her own expense, spoken and taught at many chapter meetings outside of her home chapter.
- She is always eager to help with whatever needs to be done for the good of ASD.
- The committee's choice for the Register of Recognition award is: Lea Kachadorian.
- The next choice for the Register of Recognition award has been a member of ASD for many years.
- She has worked tirelessly for the ASD West Coast Conference.
- She has worked for many years as the registrar and university contact person for the West Coast Conference.
- She has, for many years, been in charge of room assignments at the university.
- She always greets each attendee with a great smile and a word of encouragement.
- She is truly an ambassador of good will for the West Coast Conference.
- She is a member of the San Jose, California, chapter.
- The committee's choice for the Register of Recognition Award is: Irene Healy

- The committee's next choice for the Register of Recognition award has been a long time member of both the ASD and The British Society of Dowsers.
- She currently lives with her husband in England but makes yearly trips to the United States to coincide with the ASD convention.
- Her parental home is in Massachusetts and she is a very active member of the Boston chapter of the ASD.
- She is one of the most knowledgeable people about ancient sites in New England.
- She is also an awesome dowsing teacher; she is considered "A force with a pendulum".
- She exemplifies the type of person that will stimulate excitement in dowsing and insure it's future as an essential skill for living.
- She has done much to encourage an exchange of information of dowsing developments both in Great Britain and the US.
